Fewer Marylanders are filing first-time jobless claims. The U.S. Labor Department reports about 22-hundred state residents filed requests for unemployment benefits for the week ending July 20th. That’s down more than 360 from the previous week. Nationally, unemployment filings dropped by about ten-thousand last week, to 235-thousand.
