REPRESENTATIVE ASKS FOR HELP IN CLEANING UP HEADQUARTERS

Daughters of the American Revolution representative Peggy Keene is asking city official to clean up what she has described as filthy conditions that include biohzards and vermin at the George Washington headquarters cabin. The Cumberland Times-News reports that DAR has cared for the cabin and its surrounding property for nearly 90 years and hosts tours of the building, which is owned and insured by the city. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss says he will discuss the issue with City Administrator Jeff Silka and the police chief.
