Many Marylanders are expected to be among the millions of people planning a holiday trip for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Triple-A predicts nearly 44-million Americans will go 50-miles or more from home and that’s a four-percent increase over last year and close to 2005’s travel record. The data shows a record number of people will take road trips and airports are also bracing for a spike in travel. Triple-A Mid-Atlantic is set to release Maryland and Washington, DC area Memorial Day forecast numbers at an event next week.
