MDH URGES MARYLANDERS TO GUARD AGAINST TICKBORNE DISEASES

Governor Wes Moore has proclaimed May as Tickborne Disease Awareness Month in Maryland.  The state Health Department has launched a campaign encouraging Marylanders to take precautions to prevent illness caused by infected ticks. Lyme disease is the most commonly reported tickborne disease in Maryland with more than two-thousand cases reported in 2022. Tips are posted on the Health Department’s website and social media pages.
