The Cumberland Mine in Greene County, Pennsylvania is slated to be closed soon. That mine sits only about 40 miles outside of Morgantown. The pending closure would mean a loss of jobs for nearly 700 miners, many who live in the Morgantown area. Iron Senergy Incorporated, the owner of the mine, failed to provide a WARN notice with workers, according to the United Mine Workers union.
