GOVERNOR SHAPIRO CALLING ON LAWMAKERS TO LEGALIZE RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA

Governor Josh Shapiro is telling Pennsylvania lawmakers that it is time to legalize recreational marijuana.  With the recent legalization in Ohio, adult cannabis use is legal in Pennsylvania’s neighboring states, with the exception of West Virginia. Shapiro said legalization would produce roughly 250-million dollars in new tax revenue across the commonwealth every year.  The Pennsylvania Family Institute is opposed to increasing cannabis access, with a spokesperson for the group claiming the move would come with increased costs and expenses and would have a negative impact on families.
