JURY DELIVERS SPLIT VERDICT IN MOSBY TRIAL

A jury is delivering a split verdict in the federal trial of former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.  The jury in Greenbelt found Mosby guilty of one count of mortgage fraud related to the purchase of two Florida vacation homes, but acquitted her on a second count.  Federal prosecutors accused Mosby of making false statements on loan documents while buying the homes near Disney World and on Longboat Key, near Sarasota.  In a separate trial in November, a jury convicted Mosby of perjury for lying to obtain a COVID-19 hardship withdrawal from a city retirement account to buy the homes.
