MARYLAND TO RECEIVE MORE THAN $7 MILLION IN OPIOID SETTLEMENT

Maryland will receive seven-point-two-million-dollars as part of a national settlement with a company that marketed opioid drugs. Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown says Publicis’ designs and marketing helped spread misinformation that fueled the opioid crisis that has destroyed lives and torn families apart. The money will be placed in the Maryland Opioid Restitution Fund which was created by the General Assembly in 2019 to supplement the state’s fight against the opioid crisis.
