SENATE DEMOCRAT UNVEILS PRIVATE SCHOOL VOUCHER PLAN

A Pennsylvania state Senate Democrat has unveiled a private school voucher plan for students in low-achieving districts. Senator Anthony Williams of Philadelphia is seeking co-sponsors for legislation that would provide 25-hundred dollars for students in half-day kindergarten in private schools; five-thousand for students in full-day kindergarten and kids in grades one through eight. The plan would give ten-thousand-dollar vouchers to high school students and students with disabilities could receive vouchers for 15-thousand.  The dispute over school choice fueled a months-long delay in getting the state’s 2023-24 budget fully in place.
