MARYLANDERS AFFECTED BY ISRAEL-HAMAS WAR MAY RECEIVE TAX RELIEF

Marylanders affected by the Israel-Hamas war might be able to qualify for tax relief.  Comptroller Brooke Lierman says eligible individuals and businesses can request penalty and interest waivers if they can’t file returns or make timely tax payments. Those who qualify include Marylanders whose principal residence is in Israel, the West Bank or Gaza, and anyone who is affiliated with a recognized government or philanthropic organization that’s assisting in the covered area.  The full list and other information can be found on the Maryland Comptroller’s Facebook page.
