VA. CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS ASK FOR PROBE INTO AWARD OF NEW F.B.I. SITE

Eleven members of Virginia’s congressional delegation are asking for a formal investigation into the decision to locate the FBI’s new headquarters in Maryland.  A bipartisan request for the probe was sent to the acting inspector general of the General Services Administration yesterday.  The letter accuses a GSA panel of changing site selection criteria to benefit a site in Greenbelt, overruling the original decision to locate the new headquarters in Springfield, Virginia.  The letter was signed by Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine and nine members of the House.
