HOUSE-PASSED BILL WOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO GET REAL I.D.

The Pennsylvania House has passed a bill that would make it easier to get a REAL ID. The legislation would eliminate a requirement that residents have to provide the Department of Transportation with a copy of their Social Security cards in order to prove their identities to get a REAL ID drivers licenses. Instead, residents would be able to provide copies of other documents, like a W-2, that have their Social Security numbers on them. “The Department of Homeland Security intends to enforce REAL ID beginning in May of 2025.
