Bedford County resident Alec Rhoads has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for fatally shooting 53-year-old Daren Lingengelter with a crossbow in 2021. The incident occurred inside a Liberty Township home. Charges were refiled against him, because of the resignation of the previous Bedford County District Attorney. He later pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of involuntary manslaughter prior to his sentencing.
