Citing the fact that there has been a record 9.3 per cent drop in Allegany County’s population in the ten-year period of 2010 to 2020, the county will no longer be eligible for federal transportation planning assistance. The figures were released from the federal Metropolitan Planning Association, which is a part of the Federal Transit Administration. The county will no longer be eligible for certain planning requirements and assistance through the MPO.
