First-time jobless claims are up in Maryland. According to the U.S. Labor Department, about 21-hundred newly-unemployed Marylanders filed for benefits last week. That’s an increase of just under 100 from the previous week. Nationally, the number of initial claims was unchanged from the previous week’s revised total of 209-thousand.
