The victim of Monday’s fatal mining accident in Conemaugh Township has been identified as 37-year-old Brandon Frederick of Johnstown. He was killed after he became trapped between a shuttle car and a mine rib. His death has been ruled accidental. The mining operation was ordered to temporarily cease operations following the fatality. The coroner has determined Frederick’s death was accidental, as he suffered multiple blunt force and crushing injuries to his torso.
