ARCHDIOCESE CONSIDERS BANKRUPTCY

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is considering filing for bankruptcy in advance of a flood of lawsuits expected after October 1st. That’s the date when the statute of limitations is lifted on claims from those who say they were sexually abused as children. Internal emails confirm bankruptcy is an option under consideration. According to an email from the Archdiocese, officials are “preparing for the impact of the lawsuits and how to best respond to it.”
