FAYETTE COUNTY RANKS AMONG LOWEST IN PA. FOR TAX BURDEN

The tax burden in Fayette County is ranked among the lowest in the state of Pennsylvania.  A report from the state’s Independent Fiscal Office shows Pennsylvanians paid 22-billion dollars in taxes in 2021, with the northeast part of the state carrying the heaviest tax burden.  Allegheny County had the highest property tax burden of two-and-a-half billion dollars, while Fayette County and Jefferson County are near the bottom.
