SENIORS’ FUNDING TO FINALLY BECOME LAW

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is expected to finally sign a 134-million-dollar expansion of the state’s property tax and rent rebate program for low-income seniors. The measure, which would also affect disabled residents, will go into effect in the new year. It would qualify more than 150-thousand new people who make 45-thousand-dollars or less annually. The outstanding bill had sat in the state Senate for more than a month after gridlock over the budget brought legislative activity to a standstill.
