MD. CONGRESSMAN GLENN IVEY INTRODUCES SAFE ACCESS TO CASH ACT

Maryland Democratic Congressman Glenn Ivey and Republican counterpart John Rose of Tennessee have introduced a bill to combat crimes involving independent ATMs.  The Safe Access to Cash Act would give users, servicers and owners of non-bank ATMs the same federal protections as bank-owned money machines.  In addition the bipartisan legislation would also grant the FBI the authority to investigate the crimes and the U.S. Attorney’s Office the authority to prosecute them.  The measure is endorsed by the National ATM Council,  the National Armored Car Association and the Secured Cash and Transport Association.
