Thirty-seven-year-old Oakland resident Brandy Jo McKenzie died in a two-vehicle accident on Route 495, near Bittinger, yesterday. She was northbound near Dung Hill Road, and entered the southbound lane, striking a Ram 1500 truck. The crash caused Ms. McKenzie’s car to catch fire, which spread to the front of the truck. She was pulled from the vehicle, before it became fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the truck, who was identified only as a 32-year-old man, refused medical treatment. The roadway was closed in both directions for more than two hours.
