FORMER HOGAN CHIEF OF STAFF A NOW SHOW IN COURT

An arrest warrant has been issued for former Governor Hogan’s one-time chief of staff — Roy McGrath — failed to show up for the start of his fraud trial in Baltimore today.  Jurors were dismissed after the arrest warrant was issued.  His attorney said he spoke with McGrath last night when his client was supposed to fly from his home in Florida to Baltimore for the trial.   The 53-year-old McGrath was to answer fraud and embezzlement charges for allegedly improperly securing an exorbitant severance payment from the Maryland Environmental Service.  McGrath left his post there in 2020 to become Hogan’s chief of staff but resigned a few months later when his severance deal went public.  McGrath is also accused of claiming personal trips as business expenses.
