The idea of citizens owning chickens in the city of Cumberland gained little traction at Tuesday’s Mayor and Council meeting. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss says he would prefer not to have chickens in the city. Some work had gone into licensing and regulation, sanitary considerations, and penalties for violations, but ultimately, the Mayor and Council didn’t move forward on the issue.
