Suspended Somerset County District Attorney Jeff Thomas is seeking his $185,000 per year salary and benefits, even though he is awaiting trial on sexual assault charges. Thomas believes the county should not be withholding his salary and benefits, and he should get back pay. The county salary board began withholding his pay and benefits in November of 2021. There is no word on when a judge will rule in the case. His criminal trial is scheduled to begin next month.
