Conditions were right for several brush fires in the area yesterday. One was reported in the Corriganville area at Mount Savage and Portertown Roads and in the Middle Ridge Road area of Rawlings. The National Weather Service had reported that open burning of any kind was dangerous and should be avoided. Yesterday was the second consecutive day that brush fires had occurred. Earlier this week there was another large brush fire on Lucky Valley Road in the Cresaptown area.
