The site of the former Memorial Hospital is being developed for up to 250 apartment units. The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation signed a contract with Bethesda-based RAZ Development to begin laying the groundwork for a residential housing complex. Preliminary plans are for two, four-level structures with about 125 apartments each. Even though the building itself was demolished some time ago, the parking garage remains; that will be used for tenant parking.
