Maryland is reporting a drop in new jobless claims. The Labor Department says there were around 18-hundred applications for unemployment benefits last week. That’s about 125 fewer than the previous week’s total. In neighboring DC, claims jumped by 160, while they increased by about 150 in Virginia.
