West Virginia families who’ve had loved ones fall victim to fentanyl are getting a chance to share their stories. Attorney General Patrick Morrisey gave eight families the opportunity to speak and call for action against the drug during a press conference yesterday. Morrisey argued “enough is enough” and too many people are dying as a result of what he called a “menace.” The state saw a ten percent increase in the number of fentanyl and other synthetic opioid deaths in 2021 compared to the year before. Morrisey has called for the drug to be classified as a weapon of mass destruction.
