WAWA AGREES TO $8 MILLION SETTLEMENT IN CREDIT CARD BREACH CASE

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has announced an eight-million-dollar agreement with Wawa to resolve a December 2019 data breach. AG Shapiro says the breach compromised nearly 34-million payment cards that were used across all Wawa stores. Shapiro and eight other attorneys general investigated the breach. Pennsylvania will collect more than two-and-a-half-million dollars through the settlement, the third largest one behind Target and The Home Depot.
