The final vote count for some Primary election races may not be completed until August. Under state law, the counting of mail-in ballots cannot begin until 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 21. According to the State Board of Elections more than 500-thousand voters requested a mail-in ballot for today’s primary. Voters can return mail-in ballots until polls close at 8 p.m. at any of the state’s 288 ballot drop boxes or return them via the U.S. Postal Service. The Board of Elections expects the final certification during the week of August 8.
