RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION REPORTS HEAVY LOSSES

The Restaurant Association of Maryland has reported the industry has lost about $1.4 billion in sales during the pandemic, and that about 40 per cent of restaurants in the state, or about 4,000,  may close. As many as 150,000 restaurant employees have been laid off or furloughed. Effective tomorrow at 5 p.m., all bars, restaurants and similar facilities must close by 10 p.m., following an announcement by Governor Larry Hogan on Tuesday.
