The Cumberland Engineering Department says portions of two streets in downtown Cumberland will be closed, at different times this week, to allow for roadway repairs. Centre Street, from Union to Frederick Street will be closed through tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. And, Liberty Street, from Frederick Street to Pershing Street, will be closed tomorrow through Thursday at 9 a.m. The roads are being closed to allow new concrete to sufficiently harden to support vehicle loads. The roads will remain accessible for use by EMS vehicles. Detour signs will be installed to route vehicles around the construction site each day.
