FUNDING GAP REMAINS FOR DOWNTOWN PROJECT

There is a $2.5 million funding gap for the Baltimore Street Redevelopment Project, but it is hoped it can get underway before late summer or fall of next year. The project has been delayed, due to oversight and review required by state and federal agencies. Construction most likely will begin in mid-2021. The total amount secured for the project is $7.2 million, but the project is expected to cost $9.7 million. Drawings for the project are about 90 per cent complete; they are expected to be ready for review by November 1st.
