Springfield resident Wes Allen Barrett is being sought on a charge of attempted first-degree murder, following a stabbing July 19th at a home on Purgitsville Pike. No further information was released about the incident by the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office. The stabbing is the second major crime in Hampshire County this month, as the investigation into the death of 14-year-old Jonathan Adams continues; his body was found in a shallow grave, following a search of several days. Adams was from Connecticut, and had been staying with relatives in Augusta. Police have a suspect in that case.
