Pennsylvania State Police in Somerset County say a person was shot Wednesday night; they had received a call there was a woman along the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. At that point, Shirley Marie Owens, of Friedens, retreated to a home on Mull Road. Ms. Owens barricaded herself in the home, refusing to come out for five hours. She faces numerous charges, including criminal intent to commit criminal homicide, assault and reckless endangerment.
