INVESTIGATION DISMANTLES DRUG OPERATION

The Maryland State Police, along with the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, identified and arrested the leader of a drug trafficking organization comprised of Bloods street gang members and associates involved in the distribution of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, and the trafficking of firearms from New York to Allegany County. “Operation Blood Clot” resulted in the indictment by an Allegany County Grand Jury of Juebar Otis Thomas, of Cumberland, formerly of the Bronx, New York. Along with Thomas, 20 co-conspirators from Cumberland, Frostburg and Bedford were also indicted. Last year, there were 24 fatal overdoses in Allegany County; this year, so far, there have been 18 fatal overdoses.
